The Digital Local Agenda is a Strategic Plan for the development of the Information Society in the municipalities, cities and regions.
At the II World Summit of Cities and Local Governments on the Information Society, that took place in Bilbao in 2005 Local Authorities committed themselves to work for full access to the Information Society, by implementing Digital Local Agendas in our cities and regions, designed to promote the Information Society taking into account socio-economic and cultural backgrounds in particular, and based on the involvement of citizens and social actors, ultimately promoting sustainable development.
